The 1970s saw R.P. Carbone build its first building for the Lubrizol Corporation, initiating a working relationship that continues to this day. In this decade as well, the company decided to expand beyond construction business into construction management, putting together entire projects from sending out bids to overseeing construction. As the scope of the company's work grew, so too did family participation when the third Carbone generation, brothers Ross and Vincent and cousin Rosario, joined the firm. And that trend continued when Dominic and Carmen Carbone came aboard in the 1980s. Even as the firm's role changed, however, past clients continued to return to the company for new projects. In 1972, for instance, the company worked on the Medina high school, continuing a relationship established 20 years earlier.
