Goal: To assist the Revere Local Schools in analyzing what exists today as compared with the preferred learning environments for its students and community.

Planning:  Success is dependent on how well you plan to meet future needs.  You must respond to the changes occurring in education as well as meeting the diverse needs of students

Planning Process: The process must be broad-based, open, and involve the different communities, Board of Education, administration, faculty, staff, and students

The Process

  • Analyze the physical facility
  • How the facility relates to the program
  • How the facility supports your instructional strategies
  • Community and enrollment profile

The Process

  • Met with all staff members including support personnel such as food service and transportation
  • Met with community groups from each of the buildings
  • Using a problem solving tool, the groups were asked to react to the master plan and provide input for the Board and Education and the administrative team

  • Creates a large number of ideas and issues
  • NO idea gets lost in the process
  • Allows sorting and categorization of data
  • Describing categories allows us to synthesize the team's thinking
